What is DDMotion IVG: Customized IVMC with a feed-back control Major Applications: Generators for harnessing wind and water energy Wind Generators in General: Wind speed is variable. The optimum strategy for harnessing more energy for less money is the following one: Below the rated speed, capture the maximum energy by letting the rotors rotate variably but maintaining the power coefficient at maximum, and, above the rated speed, generate the rated power and protect the rotors by controlling the rotor rpm constant until the cut-out speed. There are two types of techniques for harnessing the maximum energy below the rated speed: (1) generating variable power then converting it to grid compatible constant power by using a Variable Frequency Converter (VFC) and (2) converting the variable rotor rpm to constant by using a transmission then rotating a constant speed induction generator to generate the constant power. DDMotion technique belongs to the latter. How IVG works: IVG converts variable rotor rpm to constant so that the maximum energy can be captured and constant speed induction generators can be used to generate grid compatible constant power. Generators with DDMotion IVG-Wind: DDMotion IVG converts variable rotor rpm to constant so that constant speed induction generators can generate grid compatible constant power.
